Featured Replies

just picking brains - anyone seen the Octy L and K at milesabove.co.uk with 147k and a full s.h. petrol 2.0fsi engine with the tiptronic on for 4,600

big link i know ...!!! Just looking for any informed views on this model/mileage and price really - i was considering one of the 4x4 models but the spec on this and condition looks reall good. my main concern is how much life is left in the engine and at one point other stuff is likely to go soon . look forward to your views and advice. my 2005 superb 1.9tdi tiptronic has 90k and drives like a dream - i love the brand but need an estate for hols and stuff - long euro drives etc mainly

thanks again,

phil

I feel it's slightly over priced. It's not a generally desirable engine and gearbox. MPG obviously isn't going to be great. With that mileage on it, I don't think you should be paying over 4k.

I'd consider a TDi with this mileage, but not necessarily with the 2.0FSi.

Value wise for this one, Glass's say the following based on a part-exchange on another vehicle. Add 1-1.25k for a dealer roughly.

Vehicle summary

Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement

2.0 Petrol 5-door Estate

6 Speed Automatic Front Wheel Drive

Year: 2006 06

Mileage: 147,000

Estimated value of your car

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition:

£4430

Average condition:

£3950

Below average condition:

£3470

thanks to all, i may sit tight for a while and keep looking for the diesel - given that i have that engine in my superb. the 4x4 models from 06/07 seem to pop up quite frequently and i am blessed with long legs - see the scout comment earlier on the octy 2 thread !!! - and that sounds like a good job - but the kit levels are awesome - as simbo99 says earlier in reply.

I wouldn't hesitate to consider one with high miles as long as condition was tip-top and its been meticulously maintained. Modern cars are extremely durable, and with miles as high as that it must have spent a large portion of its life on the motorway which is relatively stress free on a car.

The 2.0FSI is a great engine, and is very economical for a car of this type and size (34mpg combined). Its super smooth and works very well with the DSG gearbox.

The Glasses values are PART EXCHANGE values, so add a good grand for retail prices imho. I'd say it was priced very keenly indeed. Glasses is a well respected industry guide.

If you are happy with the mpg of the FSI, I'd go for it :)

Its super smooth and works very well with the DSG gearbox.

Didn't FSIs, at least of this age, have Tiptronics not DSG?

Indeed - a good point well made :P
