Continental Adapters - Again!

If I buy a pair of these:

?koda Accessories

What and where would I put the continental beam blockers on the protectors? It seems to be a good and reusable solution - on my Mk. 1 Octy I got a custom set of foil stickers from Skoda for the protectors, but they don't seem to be available for the Mk. 2.

Also, we have xenons for low beam. Can the covers and beam blockers be used for xenons, or will they all just frazzle?

Need to know the answer by August, when we are all driving to Ferrara (Italy) for my niece's wedding.

If you've the projector headlights they'll have this - I did it to my car the weekend before last to test it before I head to France next week, only tool needed was a small screwdriver. The plugs to the headlamps seem to be impossible to remove on my car, but it only makes things slightly more awkward...

There's not really a lot to go wrong at all with this job. It takes 10 minutes the first time and 2 or 3 every other time. Removing the headlight cluster won't affect the beam alignment as that's adjusted separately. Only thing not really mentioned in the instructions is that there is a locking tab over the J shaped lever you pull to release the light that has to be lifted before the release lever will slide open.

Surely its still simpler to just stick on a beam converter type thingy on the outside of the light casing as has been done for years?! Agree this conversion is neat & clever but if your like me and can only say simple things in French you'd be hard pressed to explain to the French plod that you have in fact complied with EU regulations regarding converting your light units to a flat beam standard etc etc! Its got to be easier to stick a converter on the lens case & then plod can see your all good & go away to cavity search someone else!

Tend to agree - happy to buy the headlamp protectors and add a beam blocker, so the whole thing can be added for the continent and removed once home - what I did with our Octy 1.

But has anyone experience of adding a beam blocker to an Octy II with Xenons? Does that actually work? Have seen many people on the ferry with the grotesquely expensive round stick-ons, but imagine the positioning is critical - how does one get it right?

All I have to do is point out the Irish number plate and I get an easier time in France :P...

How is a few quid from Halfrauds 'grotesquely expensive'? Far cheaper than getting a sqealer to do it (I was quoted £16 + VAT).

Sorry - was thinking of what they charge you if you buy on the ferry - and they try to put the frighteners on you while you're waiting to board with a highly minatory leaflet handed through your window.

But again - do these things work with Xenons?

Yes, they say so on the packaging. They'd better, 'cos I'm using them in two weeks time!
