Back in a skoda......Been a While

Featured Replies

Hiya folks, just purchased another MK1 Octavia RS after a while away with Alfa's and a dog carrying Vectra Sri estate, one of the dogs has sadly passed away but that means i have only a staffordshire left which got me thinking about what i can get hatch wise with decent power but not too racerish.

Looked at lots of cars but something was luring me back to skoda after owning the Octy Vrs estate and the Fab Vrs.

Well dropped on this one which as it happens the last two owners were Brisky members and fair play its mint, pinched the pics for now will take some for myself 2moro.

Lots of mods already done, just gonna go for stage 1 remap for now, will go for stage 2 when i can afford downpipe, cat and Stage 2 map.

Well here she is, love it to bits already :)

Monkeyboy put the AP coilovers on and the other mods i think, owned by Gaz1 who'm i bought it off, i find the the ride really nice, bit bouncy if your brisk on the bumpy back lanes but anything else it feels superb, above the standard 180hp it was as standard imo, cant wait to get a map on it to get the potential out of the lump.

Real credit to monkeyboy and gaz for the condition and mods etc. Bravo

That's a nice looking car. What Alfa's did you have?

lol good good, glad you like it.

spose if the ride is bit choppy mate you can do what I did and lift her a tad, also to get over stuff lol but I lifted mine bout 10mm max and the feelin it totally diff.

again mate have fun

Its not too choppy, im quite happy with it really.

As far as the alfa's go, had 156 2.0 ts sportwagons with a few mods, very nice motors, quite quirky like the skoda's, if alfa did a sensible size turbochrged car then i may still be driving one .

wow lol that is low

love it tho, she really is stunnin mate

very nice indeed, do like the look when its running that low

although i have to say those pic's do make me embarresed by how dirty mine is right now though, currently covered in about a million dead bugs with brake dust all over the alloys, think i will be getting the cleaning kit out asap :o:rolleyes:

is that a large front mount??? on a standard car???

Standard?

  • 1 month later...

Still looks like the day i sold it.

Engine is a good one and with the external mods did feel like it was over the standard 180bhp.

Intercooler was put on with the exhaust etc as the remap was going to be the last thing i did to make most of the upgrades but wanted another mk2 golf.

Hope the car serves you well.

What do you think of the stereo upgrades to the standard head unit?

  • Author

Upgrades to the standard headunit were good mate, i had a sony usb headunit to go in so sound quality is now a lot better than the skoda unit.

Spoke to RS tuning regarding a custom map and will book it in once i have the Cambelt and water pump done, should see 215-220 bhp, dont want to put downpipe and de-cat on as i like the exhaust quiet, would only gain me 10-15bhp anyhow i believe.

The more i look at it and drive it the more pleased i am with it, not a mark on it for such an oldish motor.

Still cleaning/polishing every week :)

When i first went to look at it condition was spot on for it's age. Interior still looked new.

When i put the downpipe on my black one it did not realy make the exhaust any louder apart from pushing on. The sound of the mods already on get more looks than a loud exhaust as they dont think it's coming from that car. People just look at the front bumper but i was running no mesh and no plate at that time lol.

still looks stunnin mate, sure Paul will get the most out of her.

billy

very nice looking vrs! parked next to this at this years ultimate dubs and loved it. made my standard 1.8t octy look rather feeble!

So that was your octavia then. I still owned the car then as only put the coilovers on the day before.
