Does the CR unit have a turbo????

Yes. I don't think Skoda (or VAG as it happens) sell any normally-aspirated diesel cars anymore...

I just did not know simple as that, I thought that as the fuel was under immense pressure there would be no need for one

Yes.

because a turbo increases fuel pressure........................................................................................

The turbo compresses the air going into the engine effectively increasing its displacement or cc as there is more oxygen to burn with the fuel. There is also a high pressure fuel pump on the engine that whacks the fuel pressure up to something in the region of 2000 bar or 1000 times the pressure in your tyres. This means the fuel gets atomised ensuring efficient combustion.

Basically the turbo is a variable volume air comrpessor.

There is no logical reason to sell non turbo diesels any more, not having a turbo removes all of the advantages over petrol except maybe for economy.

And yes, the CR does have a turbocharger fitted :)

might have had a supercharger instead :P I wish
