hey guys just bought myself a tuning box same as ones sold here www.tuningbox.com has anyone installed one before and if so how do you do it im lost cant seem to understand the instruction leaflet , its an 04 octavia 2.0tdi ?any help appreciated

Hi there, I installed a Dragon Tuning box myself on My 1.9TDI VRS & I'm sure its much the same.

The tuning box should have a Y shaped cable with a Female and Male end on each Y. If you take off that big bit of plastic on the top of the engine, you should see an electrical connection that looks just like one of the ones on your tuning box.

Just disconnect that, I vaguely remember its a red pin that you push in for it to uncouple.

Then just connect one Y one on your tuning box cable to the connector on the engine and the other Y to the wire that was connected to it. Then all you need to do is connect the Red wire to the '+' battery and the black to the '-' terminal and boomshakalaka, you have transformed your diesel into a Torquey monster!

Well I installed a branded 'Tuning Box' on my MkI 1998 110bhp Octy diesel about ten years ago and it worked a treat! But the installation doesn't sound a bit like rapeseedracer's (which sounds like a different brand - ie Dragon).

Let's just check if they're still making a similar product .... Did they send you with the box an adapter ring and longer screws that enables you to connect a fairly chunky rubber tube into the vacuum/air intake (you'll appreciate this is going back a bit for me - my old car has now been sold). You then have to unclip an electrical connector (it a s*d to pull apart) insert your Tuning Box connector in and job done! It really was only a ten-minute job (and fully reversible), apart from your perhaps having to spend 30mins getting the d**n connector plug undone.

Anyways ... any photos of what they sent you? Quotes from the instruction leaflet?
