insurance help

Featured Replies

Insurance is up for renewal and been thinking of getting REVO plus a few other bits for vrs but everytime I've rung the larger insurance companies most don't want to insure!!! Like I just phoned AVIVA and all they would allow is an induction kit....wooohoo!! So can anyone suggest a company that will accept revo modified motors.

Cheers.

Ring Adrian Flux.

Not only did they find me a company that accepted all my mods at a reasonable price but I told them that I had more plans for the car and they found a company that would accept all future mods. Since the original quote I added the ECS Race N75, 18" alloys and the WRC spoiler. I rang Adrian Flux and it was an extra £26 for the year.

I've used them previously and as a 24 yr old with 3 yrs no claims they found me a classic insurer for my 1968 MGB GT fully comp for £160 a year!

I cannot speak highly enough about them even down to customer service. Always been excellent.

For your info - I was paying £450 for the standard 150bhp Elegance. I now have an extra 2 years no claims and pay less than £550 with all mods (see my sig) declared.

Thanks will give them a ring and see what they can offer.

AF are imo not very good. Its only until you get your car written off that you find little thing such as the fact that they WONT pay more than your estimate of the cars value when you took out the policy. This is why im loosing more than £1000 as I cant replace my car for under 3k and they will only give me 1800 (including excess)

Also, if you get offered QBE dont. They are rude, not helpful at all and only open 9-5 monday to friday. Not helpful!

Thanks...just got a quote!!! Oh my God, not so much as the price but one of the endorsements was that the car needs a tracker fitted:eek: So if I hadn't read the small print and my motor got nicked, basically not insured!!! cheeky or what. Plus they don't do lock replacement! Quite expensive judging by what I've read on here. The company that they were gonna do it through was royal and sun alliance. A non uk call centre outfit! Might be worth people checking their policies. I know on my last car a golf gti, if it wasn't garaged with 1.5 miles of my house, not insured (mind you it was very cheap insurance).

Anyway all sorted with Liverpool Victoria and under written by Endsleigh. Good price for all the extras i needed:)
