Estate boot dimensions

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know the boot dimensions of an Octavia mk1 estate? I need to know if our dog cage will fit in lengthways. It fits in our Mondeo hatch widthways but I have been considering getting a VRS or 1.8T 4x4 estate as we need some extra space. The cage is 91 cm long. I would appreciate it if anyone has the dimensions or can measure their car.

Thanks

Phil :)

Thanks

Your cage will fit widthwise in a 4X4 Estate but not lengthwise. Rough measurements obtained by sitting in the boot of my car - and inadvertently shutting myself in when I gently closed the boot lid! - are:

Width - 1010 mm

Depth - 890 mm

Height - 770 mm

A fair amount of depth is lost due to the slope of the rear seats and that of the rear door. The 4X4 has a higher boot floor than the vRS and probably less space between the rear suspension mounts too, so the latter may better meet your boot space requirements.

I have a 810L x 560W x 620H dog cage which fits widthwise comfortably but I have to put padding between the top of it and the rear window to prevent damage to the HRW, ie space is tight.
