18” B14 Alloys – novice to the world of alloys

Guys, waiting to receive my vRS LE Estate, been looking at the wheels for a future upgrade, can anyone in the know tell me what I need to know about the wheels and rims on the car and what I need to replace them with? Just looking for opinion and info at this point. Any links to the Skoda site for these to browse.

Ie I really like the look of the 18” B14, also wondering best place to source these wheels other than on Ebay. Also considering the 18” Zeniths. I am not the most clued up as I like the standard 17” alloys on my MkI vRS.

TIA chaps

B14s are a Skoda Accessory wheel c.£175 each - if you talk to your dealer nicely you might be able to persuade him to switch the Monza Rs that come on the LE for the B14s for a small price adjustment (same arrangement could apply for Zeniths).

Cheers dude, this is a long term upgrade or side-grade depending on your views on the alloys of LE. Do you have any links to the official Skoda Accesories page to peruse their alloys.

Bahn cheers for the info, right quick daft question here, I assume I can at some point easily put on a set of 17” Zeniths and new tyres If I choose?, is there actually 18” Zeniths around as well ? Excuse the questions but as I say Alloys for me are grey area.

Yes Yes goes with the grey car?

Yeah but I like the look of these Anthracite B14 alloys you guys are posting about, will go lovely with the LE. Thanks for clearing up the 17" & 18" Zenith confusion for me.

I think if you change the wheels, you will have no problem shifting on your standard alloy's to a non-Vrs driver, they would be a super wheel upgrade for one of us. (hint hint)

The B14's are no longer made by Skoda. There are only a limited supply left in the UK.

Can I assume you've seen ebay item 320387915259 then?

You should be able to get the wheel repaired and painted properly for around £60.

(mods not my wheels, just saw them earlier today)

They are actually made by Brock in Germany as here;- brock car fashion - top-felgen fuer ihr auto

I've heard this before.

In July 2007 I needed a replacement for one of my B14s (courtesy of a pothole) and was told Skoda were 'out of stock' and that the B14s had been 'discontinued'. It was then I established they are made by Brock but I couldn't find a UK supplier. However, I ultimately tracked down 'the last one' via Skoda Parts, Original Skoda Parts Online, International Delivery AKA Bicketon Skoda in Sheffield who were extremely helpful. A couple of months later Skoda brought the B14 back onto the accessory list.

Maybe this time around though it is time for them to be discontinued; shame as I know several dealerships that like the B14 and fit them to the demo cars, however that was before the 'facelift' vRS that gets 18" wheels as standard. ;)

Never realised the B14s we so scarce, will keep my eye on 18" Zeniths and any news ones that come along for the new facelift VRSs. What sort of price would be a good selling pirce for the LEs Monza 18" wheels chaps?

Seen these? I think the style is called soggy biscuit?

LE Monzas are not expensive wheels; typically available new @ £120 each (£480 for 4) - so 'second hand' you'd get around £240.

Cheers Bahn, have seen enough of the B14s to realise they are stunning looking, esp the anthracite coloured one that will match the LE.

Colour/finish of the B14s is actually 'Black Chrome' (not Anthracite); here's a couple of better pictures;-

Lovely pics old chap, did the ones on Ebay for £300 sell the other day? I lost where the listing was.

They finished a couple of days ago and were unsold. They have since been re-listed to finish tonight as here;- 18" 5 spoke Alloy wheels - Skoda/VW/Audi/Seat *VGC* on eBay (end time 25-Jun-09 23:40:58 BST)

However, have a look at some comments in this thread before you consider buying;- http://briskoda.net/items-sale/b14-alloys-octavia-ii-ebay/149506/

Yes I seen the comment about 1 being damaged, obviously the one at the bottom of the pile in the photo, clarification would help sell them!!

Chaps I have a confession to make, the LE arrived today and I must say I was mistaken about the Monya alloys, I will be keeping them until they are kerbed by SWMBO. What a fantastic car, anyone considering a change from the 1.8T Mk I, the interior is a big step up IMHO. Lovely solid car, and as we are on an alloy thread the Monyas are a lot better in the flesh.

Superb car (and alloys)
