Oil Air Freshener

Featured Replies

Just recently getting a smell of oil in the car when i drive spiritedly? Ive not long fitted a front mount intercooler, and the car was going great albeit being quite reaky, but just put it down to the map, intercooler and lack of backbox in the exhaust? Now it smells of oil inside the car and dont think the cars pulling aswell as it was. Any suggestions would be good. cheers

Hello,

Have a serious look for leaks of any kind, whether from the engine/intercooler piping/ exhaust itself and any work recently carried out.

Above all check oil levels first, might give a hint from where it's leaking from.?

thats the plan for tonight. Just wondered if there could be anything obvious. Maybe not. Cheers

Could be the common oil leak from PCV fitting where it joins the intake manifold. However if you think the power is down, I would suspect a boost leak, and any oil in the boost pipework, will be getting vented.

Think it turns out the smell of oil was a leaking shocky. Changed it tonight, but not been a run since. Can only think the smell was coming in through the pollen filter?
