Almost within my grasp

Featured Replies

After almost a month of paperwork (this country blows on that respect) I will be claiming my 2005 Superb with full option package and 2.8L v6 next week!!!!

56,000Kms on the clock and in surprisingly good condition considering the gulf tears cars apart quickly.....well the locals do anyway.

Its a non local owned and cared for car with full service history.

Any input on gas mileage with the 2.8L?

I have read 30 mpg(ish) or so, any worse or better stories?

Urban is gonna be 14-20 mpg depending on conditions, up and down the 2 lane will probably average 25-28mpg.

Hi, I own a 2002 2.8 V6 Elegance. It does drink the fuel if you are heavy with the right foot.

However it is surprisingly economical if driven proper. I used to have a 1.8 Turbo and I would say that the v6 is actually better on fuel than it.

I am currently averaging around 30mpg on average from a tank of fuel. This is a mixture of town driving and a class roads.

Its a bit too tempting to put the foot down though. The engine never fails to put a smile on your face. but it can also be driven smoothly and will receive good mpg. Do not go by the onboard trip computer which can go from 15mpg to 85mpg?. Cruising at 40 in 5th it will read 56mpg. This is highly unlikely. Best to calculate yourself
