car is ready to pick up! I'll be up at the bodyshop tomorrow about 2pm - i still need to fit the lights and sort out the side repeater on the driver side and fit the bulbs into the headlights! I have LED full beam & foglights to go in, LED side lights & HID's to go in the new smoked headlights. cant wait to see the car! Pics to follow tomorrow!

I have LED full beam

Sounds interesting link please!

I'll put up pics when they are in - here is the link-

on ebay - item number - 220432819497

Im interested to see how this will work! Surely the LED's arent bright enough to use as main beam bulbs? They look like the sidelight bulbs just converted to a H3 fitting!

They are rated at 100W! So the seller says!

Here are the first few pics from collecting the car! A few really annoying bits and pieces still need work:- no lights working other than indicators on the front - no bulbs! - A/C doesnt work - no gas. And the interior is full of dust - looks like they have left the front doors open while its been in the workshop and the thing is really dirty!

I maybe putting some Lamin-x on the foglights to smoke them a bit. HID's are on order and should be in by next week!

I hope you have ordered some of the anti glare HID's! and 5000k or less! The ones I have fitted are awesome, and have not given me any trouble at all. I await the results of those LED's though....100w?!

Yes - they are the 3000K anti-glare ones - Only £60 - can't complain!

Here are some pics from today - got the car washed and waxed, fitted new legal hi-Line numberplates & VRS Plate surrounds. New front and rear "Skoda" roundel's, LED side lights and old H7 & H3 bulbs until my LED's & HID's show up. Scotland flag & GB sticker on for my trip to Germany in 3 weeks time.

Noticed my rear discs are quite badly rusted on the faces and seem to have hardly any pad to disc contact scratches - maybe need a quick service.

Also 2 of the bolts on my top mount were loose - i have one of the seat strut braces and the 2 bolts that arent used to hold the brace in place were both loose.

The wheels just need a quick repolish too.

Awaiting the bill now!

I dont think they will be bright yellow, but certainly more of a halogen colour. Ive got the 4300k, and I reckon that is by far the best colour / light output available, looks just like the volvos or hondas using the reflector headlights.

3000 Kelvin is Ion Yellow on the kelvin black body colour scale.

You have to realise though that a lot of vendors are full of **** on their colour ratings.

I'd think it might look like an all weather bulb in colour, but a high light output for a given bulb. Obviously the light output varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, so you can't tell until you get them in.

FWIW, from a drivers point of view I actually really like slightly yellow headlights as they are much nicer in heavy rain, fine rain, mist and fog and that's surely more important than looking like HIDs.
