On the way home from the cinema at about 11.20pm - got it right in the drivers side front - damage done:-

Wing

Headlight

Bumper

Foglight

Grill

Intercooler looks like its punctured too

Front panel

And i'm ment to be going to the ring in 4 weeks!

Ouch, hope that it doesn't hurt the wallet as much as it sounds like it might!

Also hope that you and all passengers were OK.

Did it deploy the airbag?

I did this about 6 years ago, what a total nightmare. I hope you get your car sorted out soon.

Airbags never went off - £1085+VAT for parts from Skoda!

Yeah right! Hold on while I bend over the parts counter!

On the look out for 2nd hand parts to rebuild - not 100% sure about the cooler if its holed or not.

just going to buy a new front panel from Skoda and try and source the rest independantly!

It aint the headlights! Its the blue/orange indicators I have in so it doesnt look like a fried egg!

Unlucky mate. Not a nice experience. Seem's to be exactly the same damage as mine, aoart from a little lighter.

There is hope though. My intercooler was fubared so I just bit the bullet and got a Forge, which was the most expensive bit. Aquired a headlight for free, also got the hard plaqstic rad surround aNnd inner arch for nothing, bought a brand new wing from Dennis Horton, £76 which I thought was resonable. Bumper and Grill for £60 delivered from Overtons in Aberdeen. And got everything (bumper, wing, 2grills, all bumper inner grills) sprayed for £130. Still needs tidied a bit, like take the dent out the bonnet, and get a new headlight as the one I got is pretty scabby and got 2broken lugs, then re-align the front bumper. But she's going again!

Just a quick update:-

car is now at the bodyshop - drop it off at 7 along with a new front panel from Skoda (£122). Its getting stripped tomorrow. Should get a good idea how much damage is hidden by the end of the day! Maybe looking at £700 for everything!

Sorted out a grill now! All parts should be here later this week!

car is already stripped when i called the bodyshop this morning at 10! they dont hang about - car should be back next Friday with any luck - looking better than new!

Well! I've been upto the bodyshop today to see how my mate was getting on with the repairs to the VRS. i told him I would drop in as and when parts showed up. When we took the car up all I had was the new front panel. I was up there on Thursday dropping off my new crystal black headlights, pair of foglights, intercooler & various bits of bumper plastic.

Went up at 1pm to drop off the grill which arrived yesterday - wasnt expecting much progress. i was pleasantly surprised!

Hope to get it back next sunday!
