Ford Price Hike

Featured Replies

Yes its a skoda website but i did laugh at work and think how lucky i am that i'm not paying for a ford as a company car:D

My fleet manager told me that Ford has just increased the price of a Focus econetic to over £19K yes a ford Focus 1.6 :rofl::rofl:

Now consider that you can buy the VRS LE at £19800 which is a bigger and better car and there isnt much difference in fuel consumption (trust me they drive them at work doing 30k a year)

I'll take my VRS PD over the rubbish i was made to drive:D

Now before anyone says "you get discounts from the dealer" mr TAXMAN goes for the full retail price and emisions when you pay P11D it so yes im a happy skoda driver.

vRS TDI get my vote as a user/choser company car driver. After many years of company cars (inc BM's and SAAB's), the vRS is the only one which I look forward to an identical replacement. c50k miles/year and it does the job better than any other. Balance of space, comfort, performance, ease of use and the dreaded P11D, makes it ideal.

what you fail to mention is thats the highest power estate version and the 90bhp hatch is only 17.5K

Sorry but what you failed to spot or understand is the car that "I and other engineers within the company i work for" are given as company cars. They are dielsel,1.6, either lx or style versions and have now changed to the econetic so Yes It does cost over £19k for the car they want me to drive and no i cant use a focus hatchback because of the equipment i carry.

My point is the car i am offered at work is not as near good enough to my car i now drive for the same money and i would pay only a bit more for the VRS in tax - no brainer really.

Oh and as to regards to "i've quoted the highest power estate - take a look at the 2.0 titanium at 140. A lot more power than the econectic but still crap:rolleyes:

I was lumbered with a Focus as a company car a few years back. It was a 1.8 TDCI LX. I hated the thing and took every chance to kill the hated piece of crap. I left the company and chose the VRS Dti as my new car. Now thats up for renewal so I have now gone for a Mazda 6 2.2D Sport as its fully loaded and cheaper per month than my 07plate Octy.

If it was my money I would deffo go for another Octy.

oh i'm sorry, i forgot to see where you didn't specify the exact model you were talking about and claimed that a focus econetic is over 19k when infact there is one for 17.5k and when i mentioned the most powerful one i was talking about the most power econetic, seeing as that was the model on discussion and not a titanium. but thanks for the effort.
