Another Blip or 2 :(

Hi everyone, any help on the following would be greatly recieved.

Ok 1st problem I am encountering now (5 weeks after clutch replacement) is start the car in a morning and run around town and everything is ok for an hour or so of driving, then once she has been on the road about 2 hours we start getting a very slight crunching when engaing 2nd gear from 1st, all other gears are engaging without any problems at all, park her up for the night and start her again in the morning and everything is fine for about 2 hours again. I have been advised that it could be the 2nd syncro or bearings, but surely if it was either of these, it would do it all the time and not after about 2 hours of running. (yes she is a taxi, sorry)

2nd Problem we have just started to encounter (5 days ago) comming back from about a 50 mile journey (on the motorway) and traveling at (approx) 80mph all was fine then without any warning she just slowed to 50mph and would go no faster for about 5 mins, then everything was back to normal, this has happend twice now over a period of 5 days and when I called in to the local garage, they connected a diagnostics machine up (as they thought it could have been entering limp mode) but to there was no fault codes in the ECU. Has anyone else had anything similar happen or know of what may be the cause.

Any assistance would be welcomed, and thanks in advance.

Sorry car is a 1.9 TDCi Octavia on an 06 plate.

Sounds like the clutch needs adjustment...and the other thing is a type of limp mode (if it does it again try switching off the ignition and then starting back up again, it should go back to normal straight away) and then it is up to the garage to find out what is setting it off

Sorry but there is no adjustment possible on the oct mk2 clutch assembly, it could be a faulty 2nd gear syncro or if you are lucky it could be down to the oil in the gearbox, Skoda changes the oil for gearbox probs like the one mentioned, the other thing it could be if the dealer you used didnt bleed the clutch after a period of time you for some reason loose a bit of pedal operation. GOOD LUCK!
