How can i turn off the annoying "Service" blinking when I turn my car on ?

with vag-com or is there another way to do it ?

There's instructions in your handbook, but it can also be done with VAG-COM.

Mine came on last week informing me "Service due in 1,000 miles" this is wrong as I know my next service is due in the next 3,000 miles.

I have a little gadget which I purchased from www.talktomycar.co.uk in Exexter which quickly resets all this nonsense.

The octi has sensors which monitor the oil condition and can trigger a service before it's due mileage if the oil deteriates. City driving is particularly hard on the oil and degrades it quicker than motorway cruising.
