Mine has done about 25 k now. How often do they need changing? Can the cone filter be bought separate and how much?

EVOM filter is essentially a K&N cone and is supposedly good for 100k ...................... but they do need cleaning and oiling every 6-8k!!

Out of interest, is this cleaning and oiling a quick and easy process or does it require the car to be off the road of any length of time (ie to let things dry out perhaps?)

Cleaning itself does not take too long but of course there is 'drying time'. I found it best to remove and clean in the evening and leave to dry overnight (maybe an airing cupboard to speed things up a bit?) then oil and refit the following morning

and a simple enough job getting it off and on? (SWMBO out in car so can't check how it's fixed!)

Very simple, just a jubilee clip holding it and then should slide off.

hmmmm yeah in principle your'e correct but you'll have a job just removing the filter without first taking out the the whole intake as there is not enough room otherwise. Either way it's a pretty straight forward exercise
