Wipers move when igition on/off

Featured Replies

I noticed today that when I turn the ignition on the wipers lower themselves towards the bonnet. Then when ignition turned off they raise up a little. Is there a purpose for this does anyone know?

They put themselves in one of 5 different positions when you switch the car off to lessen the wear on the rubber blades. This topic has just been covered.

I tell passengers it's a poltergeist.

Same here , mine do the same

It's perfectly normal, saves wear as mentioned by not having them resting in the same position all the time.

In fact, there are only two parking positions ;).

what that exactly mean...that you can reset this with diag equipment to next 100 times when you replace wipers???any comment??

i heard it was to stop them sticking and then ripping apart if you dont use them for a long time.
