brake wear indicator

Featured Replies

Not sure if it has always done this but I noticed recently that the brake wear indicator lights up when I turn the ignition key but then goes out once the car is started.

According to the manual, this should light up once the pads are worn out but I'm guessing this means it will light up all the time (not just during ignition).

Anyone else seen this and/or know what it means (if anything)?

Cheers,

Yeah, it should be on all the time if the pads are worn.

Have you tried unplugging the plug going to the brake pad (it's the passenger side front inner one) and cleaning it?

Sounds normal, I've just re-activated the sensor as I fitted new pads with the sensor in, I noticed the light coming on with ignition, as long as it goes straight out again it's fine, I think it's just telling you it checking the pads.
