July Brochure

Featured Replies

It's now available on-line.

New additions include the Greenline, the 1.6MPI/1.6 TDI CR engine options and the facelifted VRs.

A quick glance shows no price increases.

Just noticed that there is no longer a spare wheel listed as it comes with a 'tyre repair kit'. A steel can be ordered for £50.

All the prices seem to be the same and they've done away with the spare wheel as already stated.

Also noticed that "Laser etched VIN codes on all windows" seems to have been discontinued.

Was wondering if the dates for the new broschure being an as of 1st July with no end date as in previous brochure means they could change the prices again next month or even in the middle of this month?

A shame that they will charge the UK market 365.00 for upgrading a 1.9TDi to a 1.6TDi. There is no price difference in Germany.:(

My thoughts exactly; I'm guessing a price increase is in the pipeline:thumbdwn:.

Does anyone here know if the spare wheel option for the vRS is a full size steel spare or a space saver?

The brochure reads as one or the other.

The dealer is telling me it's a full size steel wheel and Skoda Customer Services say it's a space saver. :thumbdwn:

I'm beginning to wonder how many more cars Skoda could sell if they knew what they were selling.

As I pointed out 6 weeks or more ago, the CO2 figures have been revised (they have been on the VCA website for some time) Notably the 1.4Tsi Manual is 148g/km instead of 154g/km making it virtually the same as the DSG version. Also some 1.9 PD (105bhp) models have increased to 135g/km.:rotz:

Does anybody find the Skoda brochure confusing?

I want to order a facelift VRS estate with DSG and flappy paddles. A dealer has said that the flappy paddle option is not possible (technical problems???). Is this correct??

Also, is Maxidot now standard on the facelift?

Thanks for your assistance.

It's just the estates which are 135g/km. That was the same value in the last quarter. The hatchbacks are 130g/km, again the same as the last quarter.

I noticed that too but they haven't reduced the OTR price by the £25 less it should now cost to tax. The fuel consumption figures for the 1.4 TSI are also slightly better too, on the extra urban cycle the manual box is marginally better than the DSG and on the combined cycle they are identical

I did in fact e-mail Skoda's Czech headquarters some weeks ago enquiring about the CO2 figures discrepancy between the UK and other European sites but never received a reply so I was keen to see if it had changed in the new brochure.

I ordered my new 1.4TSI Octavia Elegance over a month ago and delivery is scheduled for September, I wonder if I'll get a proper spare and if not whether I can demand one ?

More lack of clarity from Skoda UK. As I see it, the manual facelift vRS has no multi function steering wheel option but Maxidot is a £125 factory fit option. DSG equipped cars have a standard fit multi function wheel and the Maxidot is included as standard. No flappy paddles though.

No flappy paddles? That is the only reason I'd choose the DSG!

I wonder why the Xenon upgrade for the new vRS is £100 more than the Xenon upgrade on the standard new Octy's - would have thought it was the same headlight array.

The petrol facelift vRS in Simpsons of Preston has the DSG gearbox with the flappy paddles (and the multifunction wheel).

Even the pre-facelift '09 build DSG vRSs had the MFSW with paddle gearshift, so I'm sure this will be carried through to the new FL (brochure states it does). I'm not sure maxidot is included as standard though with the DSG-equipped cars (unless you opt for the Bluetooth MFSW)?

It's only the manual vRS that can't be optioned with the MFSW/paddle shift.

If there is one Octavia you would want flappy paddles its on the vRS. Skoda UK's bumf lists the DSGs with standard multi functional wheel and maxidot. The latter appears to be included as part of the package on all Octavias where the MFSW is specified, although it is not clear in their listings (no surprises there) . However there is no mention of flappy paddles in their vRS DSG listings but if you have seen one then it must be standard with the MFSW.

Skoda UK's usual lack of clarity.
