I have just been informed by my garage (an independant VAG specialist) that the piston rings on my car (MY2000 Fabia 1.4 16v AUB (100bhp)) are warn, I was wondering as to if anyone has any luck in getting SUK to rectify the problem, or as to how much I would be lucking at getting them changed.

I have done a google search and honestjohn.co.uk says that the car should be run on 98 Octane not 95 Octane fuel, also is that true?

The car has 88500 miles on the clock.

The 1.4 16v is a bit notorious for that, which could go either way in terms of a 'goodwill payment' (depends on the emphasis on 'they all do that, sir', if you see what I mean...)
