Hi there

Does anyone know where this elbow pipe comes from? Its soft silicone with 14 stamped on this side. Inside it is a small hard eliptical shape hard plastic pipe.

Also thre is a pipe that is clamped to the inlet manifold its thin plastic and is cracked in the pic. Im thinking this is from the secondary air pump, can anyone confirm this?

thirdly - what is the official name for the inlet manifold (the long metal bit in the engine where the injectors come out of. I call it the inlet manifold but is there another name? (i need a new one)

Not sure about the first one? maybe someone put it in there as a trojan?

the pipe that is clamped to the metal bracket in front of the inlet manifold does indeed belong to the Secondary Air Pump. and with a split this big will cause your car to run like a bag of spanners when cold?

and the inlet manifold is the inlet manifold.. if you are talking about the big metal bit in the middle of the picture? the other long metal bit that the injectors are connected to is the fuel rail but that is thinner and has the round fuel pressure regulator at the right hand end looking from the front. HTH

why do you need a new inlet manifold? (Some people also call it a plenum chamber)

Cool cheers guys - i thought it was. Need a new one because i had a front end collision a few weeks ago, and one of the mounts below it has snapped of leaving a hole in the bottom. The cars sitting in bits at the moment on my drive while i repair it - you will probably see a few posts from me in the future! Im a bit worried about the elbow joint though - i cant seem to find it anywhere on the car, unless it came off the bus i hit up the ****!

I can't see one of those yellow thingies on my engine either, so you should be okay. (Although mine was written off before I bought it...)
