New Key

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Hopefully quite a simple one! The metal loop on the top of my key fob has broken off, meaning I can't attached the key to my key ring. This is getting really annoying, carrying the key loose in my pocked all the time. Can anyone suggest the cheapest and easiest way of either getting a new fob/new casing so that I can do this?

Mind you don't lose your key dude...:D

like I did!

I'll have a guess that it is a flip key. The metal tag is on the remote control part, so you could buy one of those at around £50. The cheapest way for a fix is to drill a small hole through it, exercising extreme care not to damage any of the internals, thread a small cable tie through the hole, fasten it to form a small loop and run your key ring through the cable tie loop.

get a replacement off ebay - separate the two halves of your key and check the part number on the remote part to ensure you get the same one. You can programme the remote to the car yourself, use your existing flip key and transponder. £10-15 should cover it.
