Featured Replies

i have had a search but found different torque settings from various people so would like to know what is the proper torque settings for the rear axle hub nut and the four nuts that secures the stub axle itself .

thanks all:thumbup:

I haven't got one but check the haynes manual. Im sure they are the same as a mk4 golf.

From Haynes- section 10 -suspension/steering .

HUB NUT ( 12 POINT ) stage 1 --70Nm/52Ft lb STAGE 2-- Angle tighten further 30 degrees

Stub Axle bolts stage 1 -- 30Nm/22Ft lb STAGE 2-- Angle tighten further 90 degrees

Also got axle mounting bolts and nuts

stage 1 -- 45Nm/33 Ft lb STAGE 2-- Angle tighten further 90 degrees

NB - HAYNES RECOMMENDS REPLACING ALL SELF LOCKING NUTS & BOLTS DISTURBED
