Estate questions...

Featured Replies

Hello all...

Looking to get a new estate and it isn't clear from the webby configurator if it comes with roof rails as standard..

Does the option 'Roof rails, silver' mean silver instead of say black, or instead of no rails at all :)

Also.... does the estate shell have the lug holes in the top of the door frames - like the saloon - for the grippy feets of a 'normal' roof rack ?

Thanks !

The facelift model has roof rails on all models from the 'S' upwards. The estates don't have the hatchback lug holes, but you have to buy the roof bars to fit the roof rails onto the estates.

Yeah, as above: the black ones come as standard, the silver ones are a optional extra so you're just paying to get a different colour set of rails, that's all. The roof bars fit across and onto the roof rails instead of into predetermined areas of bodywork as on the hatchback.

Not sure how flexable the hatchback ones are, but the estate ones you can fit pretty much anywhere along the roof rails, which can be very handy if it's a small but heavy load. I've had them a less than a few feet apart, which spread the weight nicely.
