1.8 TSI CO2 emissions

Featured Replies

Just noticed that the so far published CO2 figure for the Yeti 1.8 TSI is 189 g/km compared to 180 g/km in the Octi Scout 1.8 TSI.

This increase puts it into band J, which come April next year will mean an extra £125 for the new first-year rate road tax and thereafter an annual £35 above band I at current published rates.

OK the Yeti is more brick shape than the Octavia but its still a reasonable increase and puts it at the bottom of what the Government class the dirty end of the car market.

Oh kerb weight Yeti 1520Kg with driver (75kg), Scout 1545Kg (no driver mentioned)

A bit of a :o in terms of the Yeti being a green SUV.

Not really. Even the worst Yeti is still better than the vast majority of SUVs on C02 and I would imagine the range as a whole has a pretty good average:

Agreed its not that bad, just felt it would have been better than its main rivals the Qashqai, CR-V, and Tiguan which in petrol 4x4 configuration are also in band J.

.

And to be fare it's a big improvement over my previous Octi 4x4 Turbo 20v at around 215.

Maybe the bands don't fall very well for the Yeti, which is a shame, as on pure numbers it's a fair bit better than those that you mention.

Seems a bit harsh that the 1.8TSI is in the second worst band when there are so many cars that pollute a lot more than that, maybe the government should add more bands!
