Fabia VRS NEWBIE

Featured Replies

Hi, just got my 2003 BLACK FABIA VRS from a dealer near my town, Lincoln. After looking for ages i finally found one. FSH 61K Miles full m.o.t, MINTER!

Not picking it up untill the weekend :thumbdwn: as struck a deal with the dealer for new cambelt, full service, new tax, 2 new tyres but upon saving money i delayed getting the fabia for myself BUMMER.

I have liked the VRS for ages and have been stuck on getting one for just as long finally i get the funds and go out and buy one. Sadly i made a mistake i didnt check my insurance prices before i handed over the cash

**INSERT HORROR MOVIE SCREAM**

Im 21 and the best quote i could get for monthly payments was £1900 a f'in year GUTTED. :thumbdwn: This is bacause i had an accident totally not my fault and claimed on third party insurance who took 100% liability...WHY THE HELL IS THIS MAKING MY INSURANCE SO HIGH.

Then an angel appeard, My gran bless her offerd to pay in full my insurance which i could get, in full for £1100 so not half as bad THANKS SO MUCH lol.

Well iv gone on for ages ill get off.

P.S If i were to chip it does the insurance need to know? and if i were to would my dealer warrenty be invalid? ALSO LOL how easy is it to put on a induction system? and which are the best.

THANKS BLAW

Welcome to the Forums

The insurance does sound a bit harsh, maybe you should query why you are having to pay a higher premium if that accident wasn't your fault and the damages were all covered by the other parties insurance?

Under 25s get a reduction in membership of the IAM so might be worth doing the IAM training and then get insurance with someone who will give you a discount for that.

Try putting an older member of your family on as a named driver on the policy - in some cases it brings the premium down.

If you chip it and fit an induction kit the insurance will need to know and your premium will increase. Some insurers are more understanding about this though (Flux for example) It would also void the warranty too.

So there really isnt anything i can do to the car without BUMPING my insurance even further through the roof?? any advice from sneeky skoda drivers? ;-)

Cheers

hello and welcome:)

Insurance for the vRS is high for 21 year olds regardless of a no fault accident. The insurance need to know of ANY modifications away from standard and a remap will push it beyond even your Grans budget :P

Also any modification will effect a std warranty but it will depend on the T&C of the one you have been given.

Having said that you might get away with some pikey mods, such as the wheel arch mod which may be worthwhile in this heatwave.

Welcome to Brisky btw :)

Welcome :)

Keep it standard for a few years............
