connecting iphone to bolero radio

Featured Replies

i have many questions this time :)

1- is it possible to connect the iphone 3g to the bolero radio using the midi cable ?

2- if it is possible can i use all the iphone features from the radio touchscreen or only access to the song and video only

3- is it possible after connecting the iphone to the radio by the midi cable to make phone calls or i need the bluetooth connection

I dont't think you can use the MDI for handsfree

Sorry Mohamed,

you can only use the MDI for the ipod type functions on the iPhone. If you want to use the Phone features, you will need the Bluetooth Phone kit as well. There is a problem in that the very latest Bluetooth module uses rSAP to talk to the phone, andf the iPhone doesn't support this. If it did, you could use all the phone and ipod features using the bluetooth headset functions. I don't know if this is possible on the older model bluetooth kit. I will let you know when mine turns up. If it does work, and you have both modules, then you could charge the iPhone at the same time.

The new parrot mk9200i is an intergrated ipod dock and handfree kit - I've fitted a few recently into a one or two VAG vehicles - nice piece of kit - normally abour £230 from halfords (where I work) - but i found them for £180 on ebay. You can probably fit it yourself - but you will need an SOT-976 cable to fit the kit - and you will need to run the red fly cable to the heated windscreen washer switch-live on the fuse box. other wise it wont power up!
