engine management light

Featured Replies

Hi

I have had my 04 skoda octavia vrs for 3 months and i have had the engine management light reset 3 times in that period. Every time it says ther is a problem with the coolant but no fault can be found. The garage says that everything is running in the correct perimeters and it gets reset only to come back on after a few weeks. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

it may be throwing a code for the engine temperature sensor(a common fault on all vag cars). you need to get the actual code off the garage if you want to get the right advice though.

had the exact same problem 01 vrs, get the thermostat checked, i could go on for hours about what was checked, changed, and spent to rectify the problem, it went on for months in the end it turned out to be the thermostat

basically to find out without getting your hands dirty is when you start off driving your temp needle should reach the 90 degree point witin 3-5 minutes or less and should stay there regardless, if its taking longer to reach 90 or goes slightly over well then its your thermostat.
