Anyone got any experience, good or bad, with EBC redstuff pads on standard vRS discs?

Fade resistance, noise, dust, wear rate, disc wear? Anyone used them on track conditions, how do they cope?

they are shi t dont bother mate;)

better than no pads, but not by much! I know - I have them

get some ferrodo DS2500, they'll work.

Cheers, yes I'm familiar with DS2500/3000, price is a chunk higher though. I've also used Mintex 1144 and Extreme with good results.

Yellowstuff works very well in a couple of race cars we run, so I was curious how the latest Redstuff behaves, hence the question..

Excellent, IMHO, on 312mm discs on an octy II.

30k and still there, good stopping wet and dry, low noise, discs are fine and they have never had brake fade for me.

I have used them fast road and through the Autobahns plus a few laps (not fast mind) of a certain de restricted toll road.

Dusting, I would say is significantly less than OEM as the rears produce more dust than the fronts now.

If you want a pad for mainly track use, I'd go for the yellow. A pad for road use plus one or two laps on track and the red ceramic should be fine.

Do make sure you bed them in correctly though.

I gather the later "ceramic" compound red is supposed to be a good improvement over the earlier compound. Main use will be road use, presently using Mintex Extreme which I've been quite happy with but they aren't really up to track use at all. To be fair I suppose you realistically need to be looking at having a spare set of pads to use on trackdays, unfair to expect a "one size fits all" solution.

DS3000 are absolutely awesome on track, and although reasonable from cold, they really aren't good for road as the friction gets considerably better as it warms up, and makes braking very non-linear.

We have good results from Yellows in race conditions, but again not really that nice for road use, so was hoping the current Red compound may be a good compromise (also keeping in mind that Greenstuff are awfull lol :D )

I'm running the ceramic V3 and have no cold weather issues that I've seen.

As I said, if you're regularly tracking it the red are not the right choice but if mainly road the reds are good.

I totally agree the greens are sh*te and wouldn't put them near anyone's car.

Reds are fine for a fast road pad with a bit more bite (same friction co-efficient as the DS2500 of 0.5) for a relatively low cost.

If you're going to be tracking a lot the DS2500 or yellow might be the right choice, however bear in mind the Reds are E approved and have the wear indicator and others don't if you value this.

I thought ds2500 where e marked? was what I was told when I looked at them? I'm running mintex extremes but only on the road atm.

I've seen a fair few images on the internet (yes i know) of ebc red crumbling, and heard some pretty worrying stories about them. however some people seem happy with them.

I think my reds might be the older compoud as they are quite noisy (not like bare metal on disc but not far off it)

i got them on grooved discs and they mint especially when warm. need to be bedded in properly or you can kill them. mk1 occy vrs.
