vRS grill badge thingy

Featured Replies

I have just bought a the vrs badge because mine had been removed and ive got the badge itself which has an adhesive backing but there is also a black plastic backing too but I cant see how it fixes to the grill?

Is there some mounting plate that needs to be attached first etc

I had the same problem.....solution stick the badge to the black plastic backing. Then glue entire thing to grill using Araldite. 6 months on, mine's still in position!

Thanks for reply. I will give that a go at the weekend when I dont need to drive the car. Do you think spray on adhesive would be ok, as I have a can of that already?

I doubt if that would last you until the end of the road......

You will need to bond it on with a good strong adhesive :)

Thing is,it probably would last to the end of the road, its just when you park up and the heat radiates from the engine (the RADIATOR i guess ) it does funny things to the adhesive.

And don't, whatever you do, try hot glue sticks.....i still thank the lord mine fell off in me driveway!

As I say, araldite has done a splendid job for me, and for £5-6 its cheaper than another replacement badge.

I stuck mine on with superglue, it's still on over a year later.

I also used a file on the black plastic bit to get a bit of a rougher surface before I stuck it on :)

I stuck mine on with superglue

superglued mine on too , but i used the GEL version , so it didn't run all over the place and leave white stains , that was done over 4 years ago

I stuck mine on with superglue

and it fell off....so i thought

It may have been pinched

I think they'd need to nick me whole damn grille - I love araldite!

stick the backing plater to the grill first then when its properly dry stick the badge to it. i did it the other way round then realised the whole thing was too heavy to glue on properly.

Thanks for the input guys, Il give it a go with some araldite after rubbing the plastic down a bit.

Yeah, I did it the other way around..

Made use of a metal skewer held in place with an elastic band - if you try this way, make sure you do not get araldite on the skewer...not sure that would be the best look ever!

i couldnt be bothered to glue mine on so i keep it in the ashtray :D
