Octavia II 2.0 TDi 140 remap, anyone done it?

Featured Replies

Looking at the options, there's Celtic Tuning, they also have their eMotion box that lets you switch remaps.

There's Superchips and their bluefin

Also the various other tuners around that just do a plain remap.

Anyone done it with this model/engine?Was it worth it?

Last time I tuned a TDi was with a Leon 1.9TDi 110 and 5 months later the turbo collapsed and killed the engine, I got £500 scrap for the car after that.

Sounds like you had a bad remap then! There's tens of options (probably hundreds) so have a good look around and go with who you trust and who suits you.

If you post up an idea of the general area where you live, you will be able to get recommendations from other members of a good local tuning company

Well the remap I got was from Celtic Tuning, which is a very reputable place!

I'm in the South Yorkshire area, don't know if there are any local to here, but suggestions are always welcome!

There are two Superchips dealers near you, Swifts Autocentre in Sheffield (supposed to be VAG specialists) and Noble Motorsport at Chesterfield. I've had no dealings with Swifts, but have used Nobles several times over the years on many different makes, & been very happy with their work.

Oh Nobles have a rolling road & Swifts don't, which might be a factor to consider.

IIRC Rainworh Skoda at Mansfield used to offer Revo, and if you fancy a trip over the Pennines then there is always Awsome GTI who IIRC offer APR. I can't comment on the APR remap, but Awsome have always been very helpful/supportive when ever i've dealt with them, and there is always that wonderful drive back over the Snake or Woodhead pass with your newly modified car to put a smile on your face :D

Obviously the Bluefin you can do yourself.

If you combine the mapper you mentioned before along with a search for turbo failure on here then I think you have enough to make a decision if you ever want to go there again.

Highest figures often mean they might be pushing the car that little bit too far.

Revo and Superchips are well respected on here.

Have to agree! Mapping eats into an engines built in safety margins, so i'd always go for a reputable map which still leaves some room!!

Rainworth Skoda are still a Revo dealer for info.

Wot Wardy said

It is indeed an option worth mentioning :)

There's always RS Tuning at Leeds

I know several people that highly recommend them,

they're also a site sponser on here

My Dad ran his 2.0TDI DSG Touran with a Celtic map for 60k plus miles with out any issues at all.... say's it was the best money he ever spent on a car.

What happened after 60k miles, who know's as he sold it and got a 2.0TDI DSG Passat Estate, which has been remapped by Celtic, 15k miles so far and no issues
