Power Washer :) .....

Featured Replies

Would anyone even considering using one on their car? My old man recently purchased one, and I was considering on taking my laziness to a new level by using it on my octy. A friend used one on a fiesta, and none of the paint faded, peeled, even the rust wouldn't flake off. Any opinions?

I use mine on my car, I am careful not to get too close on the edges of panels etc, but I happily blast away everywhere else.

simbo - what the hell were you doing in the Styling and Car Care section in the first place?

Perving

HTH?

He ain't and neither are you lol.

You will be shortly though ;);)

They are fine as long as they have a variable lance and not a pressure increasing one for cleaning patios etc.

For example a karcher vario lance is fine, but their dirtblaster lance would most likely damage the paint and is not suitable.

EDIT: Hey Fatty... how did we get in here? ...i'm gone - one word of Morrisons car wash in here & I'm mince meat! :(

The orignal post was in the octavia mk1 section.

Do you really use a car wash ???............................

Wouldn't go near one myself.

Wouldn't go near one myself.

I think a power washer is essential , i used to use rainwater from my water butt and a watering can and was always having trouble with swirling despite being ever so careful with my wash methods

The secret of keeping swirls and marring down on paintwork is to get them as clean as you possibly can BEFORE you touch them and on a well protected finish most of the dirt will come off with a power washer even better if coupled with a snow foam lance .
