Hi, I am new, so hello everyone. Hope you can help.

I have an issue with a 4 year year old Octavia sport TDI where the ESP warning light stays on permanently. The retailer, Withams in Walton on Thames, has advised that the main ABS control unit needs replacing at £1,250 just for the part! Labour & VAT will take it to approx £1,600. I am trying to get some goodwill from Skoda UK but they are really dragging their heels, we are of to France in the Octavia on 27th July so need it sorted, any advice?

Have you tested the ABS yourself, say by trying to kill the brake pedal on loose gravel? If the ABS is working correctly, then I don't see the problem being the ECU.
