Featured Replies

anyone done this job just had a presure test and skoda say got a leak even though the dripis coming from under the passenger seat skoda wont £345 to replace the rad i can get rad for £54 quid from gsf i no you have to take bumper of is it a easy job willing to try anything if it says me money

Its not a difficult job at all, although a little time consuming.

You need to remove the bumper, loosen off the front lock carrier and the whole front end slides forward.

I've done several of these now and reckon about 4hrs to fit. Its a pretty convenient time to do a cambelt/water pump change too as gaining access is 50% of the job done.

PM me if you want a hand doing it. :)

If you have a leak near the passenger seat and the dealer says you need a new radiator.

Won't this be the heater radiator behind the dash rather that the engine radiator.

Just a thought.

I did mine in about an hour and a half leaving the front in place. The Haynes manual suggested putting the front end into the 'service position' to aid access, but I didn't have the patience to try so I had a go with it in place. From memory it's bumper off, crash bar off, a/c rad off (left connected but moved out of the way). The only reason I can see for moving the front forwards is to help access to the bottom hose but to be honest... If I can do it with my spade hands then anyone can.
