LE or not LE that is the question ?

Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDi CR vRS 5-Dr Hatchback

Anybody seen this 'grey' octy vRS ??

Thought this colour was only available as an LE model.

Clearly it's not an LE as the seats and the airbag are wrong ??

The climate controls on the LE are also different.

The colour was available for a short time just before the facelift on the standard vRS.

It may have had a respray, but more likely the interior photo may be of a different car. I'd say go and look at the car in question.

I think it looks better than the LE I'm not keen on the LE's wheels.

There appeared to be a few non-LE models that snuck through in that colour.

That's despite the LE brochure saying "Anthracite grey metallic paint previously not available on vRS".

I'd say it is the same interior, if you look at the interior photo the colouring around the window is the same grey colour as the exterior paint. But only way to be 100% is to go see.

it is the same car, as already mentioned a number of normal vRS's were sold that colour.

Is "Charcoal" (this vRS) a different colour to Anthracite (Ltd Ed, previous link) ?

when would you ever the 2 different models in the same place to check ?

Skoda has for some reason adopted a piecemeal approach to facelifting the Octavia. At different times they have introduced:

(a) the CR diesel engine (only in the vRS: other 2.0 diesels are still PD)

(B) the new dashboard, with heater and aircon controls which are less convenient

than the old ones

© the rest of the facelift, mainly cosmetic

(d) deletion of the spare wheel.

My vRS has (a) and (B) but not © and mercifully not (d) and I'm very happy with it.

Incidentally I E-mailed Skoda UK about the spare wheel issue and got a courteous phone call back saying that it would be looked at and considered. Others may like to do so as well.

Dealer told me that they painted in excess of that required for the 500 LE models in the metallic grey colour, and that the LE models then got their other updates in the UK (leather re-trim, badges and wheels).

However if this was the case I would have expected the vRS in this thread to also have the updated interior. Maybe they started the paint run early

Looks identical to the LE Anthracite to my eyes, lovely undesrstated colour for a VRS IMHO.

Prior to buying my LE recently, I just missed a grey vRS at my dealer's which he told me was NOT a LE, but had many of the LE upgrades, though not the leather interior. He spun me some tale about Skoda having made "too many" LE models. Incidentally it was available at a real bargain price - I missed it by 5 minutes.

They were all ordered and in the UK in Nov last year. A 500 car limit was set for the LE, which had the interior and dash revamped. The rest were sold as was (pre facelift interior).
