Tempature gauge

Featured Replies

I require a little help or advice.

My 2000 registered Octavia TDi keeps telling me it is over heating! The thing is it happens within two minutes of starting from cold first thing in the morning then clears the fault within a further minute. This fault happens with the engine running or not (ignition on)! Any thoughts or advice

Sounds like a dodgy guage

Probably a dodgy sensor somewhere.

Intermittent faults like this are a pig to find and rectify - my 1.8T had (still has) a fault whereby the temperature gauge is slow to reach "normal" - it sometimes goes up part-way, then down, then back up, and so on. The car was with the dealers for a day while they tried to trace the fault, without success. Now I just ignore it.

My vrs octy has the same problem cold mornings comes on.leave the car running a minute switch it off then on again no warning took mine to skoda said it was the water below level.thats funny cos i looked at it and it was fine and still beeping just ignore it now. nothings happened car still running fine.
