getting some wood off...

Featured Replies

No not some sort of sexual game.

I need to get the wooden panels off the loading bay of my Felly fun so that i can paint all the rust. I didnt want to just prise them off incase i break something.

But is that how they are held on? just some snap connectors or something?

Dont tell me they are bolted with loads of induvidual bolts.... i dont want to hear that :rotz:

Mine are glued on! They are in pretty good condition at the moment, but I am dredding the day I have to remove them. But i would be interested in finding out how they were put on orginally.

On a similar subject, does anyone know how to remove the storage containers? I can find any fixing holes and I don't to break it trying to lever it off!

Mine are glued on!

AARRGGHHH dont say that

I suppose i could just mask them off but i really wanted to get them off to shot blast the bed and get it shiney shiney.

Im going to be painting mine in black epoxy resin as ive already fitted a plastic tailgate peice (removed the yellow steel / wood peice) I know it wont be standard, but itll look alot better. Im using a rubber ball/ epoxy mix to give it some grip.

Id like to keep the wood visible though i think as it looks kinda cool.

Sod it ill just mask it and pour the epoxy down the gaps between em. Itll get in all the gaps and seal it off nicely.

Might even put clear epoxy over the wood once they have been sanded. Make the whole bed super tough! :)

The wood is glued down and the storage bins are bonded in

Cheers for that, I did take a peek yesterday afternoon and yes...I can see alot of what looks like some sort of mastic bonding gunk!
