I have recently encountered a problem with my 2003 Skoda Octavia vRS. I opened the car with the remote key, all three doors opened and the boot but not the front passenger door. I tried to open it by pulling the inside handle but nothing. I then tried to hold up the lock while pulling the inside door handle, still nothing. Now whon i try to use the remote key fob it doesnt even open any of the doors. But when i put the key into the door lock and turn it all three doors and the boot open. Think i may need to take the door card off the passenger door but as it is locked shut i am struggling to see how to get it off. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try banging area around where the the central locking/door catch is from the outside while repeatedly unlocking the car via the remote. The locks have a tendency to stick and lock safe so make it unable to open from the inside. If it still gives you trouble then let me know

That's the joy of VW locks, had a Golf yesterday and expecting a Fabia on Monday both with the nearside front lock stuck on deadlock. The advice in post #2 is spot on. This link will explain the inner workings of the lock:
