Why have I only just seen this?

Gotta love the noise they make! I test drove one and found it quite quiet though... but an after-market exhaust would solve that :D

Looks awesome!

The .:R does make a great noise as standard but its definately not quiet  I think it has the right balance for a road car, quiet when you want it to be yet loud when pushing it. The only reason I got the (resonated) Milltek was for the minor performance benefit and the larger tailpipes. Other exhausts, especially the non-resonated ones, are too loud and boomy, and would annoy the neighbours :thumbdwn:

The eBay advert isn't exactly very tempting is it, considering the spec of the car

Mind you, maybe they aren't aware of the full spec which worries me, as whoever purchases it needs to declare the modifications to their insurnce company.

It doesn't seem like it, but that could work out well for me if I go for it. Have to admit I'm tempted, just waiting to see what they may offer me for mine. Although my head says stick with mine, my heart is saying go for it, doh.

Found a RR print out on your website and looks like quite a mild map producing around 270 lb ft of torque, so that explains why the clutch has coped ok.

Hmm, decisions decisions.....

Forgot to say, I assume you were happy with the standard of repair work? The paintwork must be close to immaculate now? Any dings/chips/scratches?

The remap was a generic Revo map, the car would be producing slightly more power now with the FMIC but with slightly more lag too. The torque increase wasn't as much as other cars and your right, that could be why the clutch has lasted so long.

The repair work was spot on, they even replaced both xenon headlights instead of just the damaged one. I also paid extra for them to replace the second fog light as it would have looked odd with one new fog light and one covered in chips. The paint is in great condition, was waxed quite regularly and I only used a heavy cutting compound on the paintwork three times. There are some stone chips on the front, but all cars get them. They are fairly minimal though. There was a light scratch on the drivers side rear door, around two inches long that I didn't get a change to remove (Meguiars Scratch X would have done it), the corner of the rear bumper had a couple of veyr light marks, and there was a tiny dent and chip on the roof where somebody threw a stone. On the inside, the back of the front passenger seat has a very minor tear, and the side of the driver's seat had a small maroon coloured dot (maybe makeup?).

Thanks Irf. Is the Garret GT17 turbo a hybrid or just a standard turbo (from a PD150?) stronger than the KKK? I assume this could reach 200-220 bhp with a custom remap? Although no doubt that would finish the clutch off!

Edit: What did the £1400 service back in June include??

The turbo is a standard Garret GT17 from a PD50 engine, and the general opinion on here is that it is seen to be more reliable than the KKK turbo. It has been on the car for around 40k miles and I've had no issues with it, whereas the KKK went bang after 30k miles.

I wouldn't bother remapping the car again, it is fast enough as it is. I think a custom remap would free up maybe another 10bhp at the most, although you would see a big increase in torque if you fitted an uprated clutch at the same time. I was planning on getting Awesome to do a custom remap along with an uprated Sachs clutch if it ever started to slip, but it never happened

Yep, a reliable sympathic map on a PD150 turbo will result in 190-ish BHP and 300-310lb/ft.

As Irf says, I'd leave it as it is.

Steve
