Can Octy rear speakers be turned down/off?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if it is possible to turn down or even off the rear speakers in the octy vrs (std ICE). Can't fathom that nasty adjusting thing Left/Right/Centre business. Fed up having to turn down the volume so Kevin in the back can hear his personal stereo. I know I could do this in one of my previous cars-Audi 80?

Anyone help?

Thanks

Yep, you just use the fader on the std HU and fade it to the front speakers. Can't remember how off the top of my head but have a look in the users manual if you get stuck....

Press whichever button you pressed to get the left/right/centre adjustment *TWICE* then you will be able to fade from back to front

Press the button marked ''geo'' until it displays the fader (think it does left/right first) :)

Thanx all, never thought of pressing twice to get Front/Rear. Done it now and will be tested this weekend! I'm sure my old Audi 80 just had an On/Off switch on the actual rear speakers-how simple is that?

Alternative is too open the boot and manually remove the feed wire that come from the HU to each rear speaker. One wire comes in from the HU and then another one leaves from the woofer to the tweeter in the rear door. matters not a jot if you remove both, but you must remove the HU feed-in.

Good luck
