Help removing the facia below the steering wheel

Featured Replies

I'm trying to replace my brake light switch for an intermittent flashing glow plug light problem.

This afternoon I've been trying to remove the fascia panel below the steering wheel to get to the switch without much success. I've removed five screws (one from the side, four from underneath) but can't get get more than minimal movement from the panel which seems to be trapped at the top left.

Can anyone who has done this give me some pointers as to where I'm going wrong?

Have a look at the cruise control guide at the website in my signature.

You need to pull out the trim between the upper column shroud and dash panel to reveal a screw behind it. You do not need to completely remove the panel, only pull it out far enough to get at the switch.

you don't need the panel removed to change the switch, simple push the chair as far back as you can and lie in on side with your head in around the throttle pedal, should be handy fixed, only turn switch and pull out,
