De-cat pipe

Recommended Posts

Fabia vRS = diesel = no cat needed for MOT

It is my understanding that it is illegal to run a car without a CAT. Is it not conceivable that an MOT tester can take a look at under the car, see that it has no CAT and fail the MOT??

If that is not the case why bother fitting the damn thing in the first place?:confused::confused:

...To reduce emissions. From what people have said decatting a diesel doesnt fail the MOT because the test on the emissions is different for a diesel car than petrol.

but there is nothing in the MOT about specifically checking for the presence of the cat, that's all done on the assumption that the car can't pass the emissions test without the it and as I understand it there's no emissions test on a diesel like on a petrol just a smoke test
