My standard (288mm) brakes are mullered.

What do I need to upgrade to 312mm & will they fit within the standard 16" rims or must I buy 17"'s

All you really need is the carriers and discs, the calipers are the same.

Got them on my 4x4 behind standard 16" wheels.

Plenty of the Fabia people upgrade to the 312 kit but keep the standard 16" vRS wheels.

they fit under my standard Fabia 16"ers - clearance is tight but they do go on.

and i bloody hope they fit over the 16" Octy spiders i've just bought!!

They fill 16s very nicely - they look purposeful

And yes, 16" Spiders will be absolutely fine too.
