I am going to be topping up my oil within the next few days and I am wondering what specification I need.

It is a 2.0 TFSI on variable servicing, so I think longlife oil is what I need but not too sure what grade.

Synta Longlife III from a dealer is always best

Make sure it says VW504/507 (I can't remember which one of those is the longlife standard, but the oil will meet both of those standards) on the bottle.

My dealer used Castrol Edge for my recent second variable service.

When I was just topping up my oil between services I was happy to use Halford's own brand - reasonably priced and conforms to the VW Standards.
