cats and lamdas

Featured Replies

I've just ordered the cheapo fabia. What i could do with knowing is how many lamdas does it have? Does it have just one (usually pre-cat) or does it have one pre and one post cat? My reason for asking is that its dead easy to fit a 200 cell cat and free up the bit of power sapped by a stock 400 cell cat. If it has a 2 lamda set-up then it'd need a remap but with just one its dead easy! Yeah I know, warrantee etc. But I like to tinker and I have a 200 cell cat lying around.

Most things since 2001 seem to have two lambda probes.

At the end of the day its not going to be a bolt on swap... most of the cats are built into the downpipe now, so its going to mean butchering one of the most expensive parts of the exhaust to fit it.

yeah, I know. Easy enough to make up a replacement cat pipe. Its the two lambdas that scuppers the easyness of it.
