Recoding the key fob - Immobiliser

Featured Replies

Keeping in mind i'm new to vagcom:rolleyes:

Can anyone tell me whats involved in reprogramming the key fob/immobiliser?

I have had a new alarm fitted and now the spare key doesnt work.

I have managed to reprogramme the key fob to open/close the doors using this technique Program and Reprogram Your Car Remote Key Fob Control Transponder - Program Your Keys Free Instructions - Program Keys - VW Audi Seat Skoda

But when I use the key to start the cat the immobiliser kicks in.

I dont know what to do next or how to recode the key fob to the work the immobiliser.

I dont even know if its connected to the alarm being fitted but the key I was using when the alarm was fitted works fine but the spare key doesnt work.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The immobiliser coding is done through the dash panel and you'll need your cars 4 digit SKC.

Turn on the ignition (engine not running) with your working key, 17 dash panel, 11 log in with your SKC, prefixing it with 0 to make 5 digits, 10 adaptation, channel 21 put number of keys at 2, do it/save, remove key and insert and turn ignition on with the other key.

If you don't have your SKC, it'll have to be done at a dealer.

Thanks Fordfan.

Looks like I dont have my SKC code so will call in to the dealers one day and ask them to sort it.

Pop down and see me if you like Mark. I can sort that out for you.

If you don't have your SKC, it'll have to be done at a dealer.

I think I've said this a few times in response to your posts, it does NOT have to be done by a dealer, just by someone with the right equipment
