Where to find Symphony HU code

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, i'm planning on putting my Symphony HU into my fathers 1.4 Fabia since I now have a Pioneer 8600 to play with.

When we swap it over will I then need to enter the security code and where would I find it? There are two stickers in the front of my HU manual one with a long code the other with a 4 digit number, would this be the code?

I read somewhere to enter the code once HU is swapped over and then press >> would this be correct?

Thanks for any info ;)

The code is a four digit number. The code for mine was in a plastic kind of tie-wrap that the keys come on.

The number is also written on the car receipt thingy - or at least it was on mine. I'll dig through my paperwork tomorrow to find out if you want :)

Your dealer can also supply the code if you get desperate.

Although they find it useful to have the serieal number. This may mean a trip to the dealer if you are unlucky.

I had a Skoda loan car (brand new) when my old Fabia was in to get the wiring loom fixed and no one at the dealership knew the code. OK, the car belonged to Skoda UK but it makes you wonder.

Some of the newer units in the VAG range do not need a code if they are being refitted to the original vehicle, as they talk down the CANBUS data lead. If they are being fitted to another vehicle they you will need the code.

If you have no luck with a Skoda dealer then get your Yellow pages out and have a look in the car audio section for people who decode. Prices vary from

Ah, I did get a couple of plastic tie-wraps with the keys but I forgot what they were for. I will have a look when I get home Saturday.

Thanks everyone for your help.
