Low Coolant Indication

Featured Replies

I drive a Fabia 1.4 MPI 8 valve (2000w, 39,000 miles). On startup from cold the coolant level indicator light flashes accompanied with the audible 'beep' warning. When the engine is up to normal temperature, and the engine is stopped and re-started, the problem disappears. I've recently replaced the coolant reservoir thinking there may be a problem with the internal sensor but the problem has gradually returned. Does anyone know what the problem is and advise a cure?

Thanks :o

The sensor in the reservoir is the usual culprit, however I've ended up taking the step of shorting the sensors on both SWMBO and my cars with a bit of stiff wire, and just having a peek under the bonnet every now and again...
