Can anyone recommend a course that I could attend to enable me to learn 'simple' car maintenance. I'm not looking to rebuild a head, but I'd like oil/filter changes, ability to change brakes, simple stuff. Anyone been on one, or knows of someone who's attended a particular course who found it beneficial?

check with the local colleges, they should do evening classes , usually starting in September

Look up Harlow College website, as I am sure they do the courses.

You could then go straight from work.
