Škoda wins Driver Power customer satisfaction award

Superb voted Best Family Car

Škoda flourished at the Auto Express awards last night winning both the Driver Power and Best Family Car awards.

The flagship Superb outshone the competition in the Best Family Car category. Škoda were also the first brand to knock Lexus off the top spot in the Driver Power Customer Satisfaction Survey earlier this year, contributing to last night’s Driver Power award win.

The Driver Power award was scooped, according to David Johns, editor in chief at Auto Express, due to the consistency of Škoda’s entire range, "Škoda is the first firm to knock Lexus off the top spot in the manufacturer standings of our Driver Power customer satisfaction survey. To decide the winner of the award we take an average score for each brand's range - and it was the consistency of Škoda’s entire line-up that brought it home ahead of the Japanese brand."

David also elaborates on why the Superb, launched in the UK just under a year ago, was able to clinch the Best Family Car award, "We simply could not ignore the excellent Superb, which provides the space of a luxury car at the price of a family hatch. And that's not all, because its novel dual-opening tailgate means it can be used as a five-door hatchback or four-door saloon. Plus, it can easily accommodate five adults, with huge amounts of rear legroom and a generous boot.

“The Škoda isn't just about size and value, though,” continues David. “Our road testers were also amazed by the Superb's agility and handling. They were expecting impressive refinement and comfort - but the sharp dynamics of the Škoda are genuinely impressive.”

Robert Hazelwood, Škoda UK Brand Director, is delighted by the latest success, “Winning these two awards is fabulous news for Škoda. We’re very proud of the new Superb which has been a great addition to the brand.

“By winning the Driver Power award our owners are telling us that Škoda really is the manufacturer of happy drivers.

“We’re proud of our success at the Auto Express awards and pleased that our owners are satisfied with their Škodas.”

Škoda manufactures five models in its range: the supermini Fabia, the family carrier Roomster, mid-size Octavia and the luxurious upper-medium Superb, to be joined in September by the new Yeti crossover.

Whoo hoo, thats good going.

Delighted that so many Skoda aficionados have been proved right and that Skoda have been proved right in their product range.

Well done Skoda.

Does this mean we can now become fanboys like the jap car owners??

I can't see VW being overly pleased that they are moving out of the limelight for there 'cheaper' brand.

Woo!

I'm not surprised, the same quality cars in a different package, so why didn't VW win?

Cause the main dealers are crap and hard to deal with.
